Some weddings feel extra close to home, and Poppy & Dan’s day was exactly that. Not only have I had the pleasure of working with them many times in the wedding world—they’re also friends, and two of the most genuine, down-to-earth people you’ll ever meet. As the award-winning team behind @eventextras_, they’ve helped bring magic to countless weddings across the South East. So it was a real honour to capture the joy of their own special day.



The Location

Set high in the hills near Wye in Kent, Crown Lodge is a venue that’s as breathtaking as it is peaceful. With sweeping views and a beautifully rustic ceremony space, it offered the perfect setting for the relaxed, personal celebration Poppy & Dan had always envisioned.



The Vibe

From bridal prep at Poppy’s family home in Kingsnorth to the sunlit ceremony at Crown Lodge, the day had a beautifully laid-back energy. Dan and the groomsmen got ready nearby in Willesborough before heading to the venue to welcome guests.

Poppy’s arrival was full of emotion, and her walk down the aisle with her dad, Colin, was a moment that won’t be forgotten. The ceremony was relaxed, intimate, and full of personal touches that felt completely true to them as a couple.

  • The laughter and love during golden hour, with live saxophone music floating through the air
  • Dance floor moments with DJ + sax from Boom Box and Dave Brazier
  • And the quieter touches—like the tribute to Poppy’s grandad with a photo at the top table



The Celebration

With evening guests arriving, the party kicked off in true Poppy & Dan style. The photo booth was in full swing, the pizza truck kept everyone fuelled, and the LOVE letters lit up the lawn as golden hour faded into night. But it was the dance floor that really stole the show.

From the very first track, it was packed—and it stayed that way. With Boom Box on the decks and the incredible Dave Brazier on sax, the energy was electric. Guests of all ages were dancing like nobody was watching (myself included at times!). You could feel just how much love surrounded these two—and how much fun everyone was having celebrating alongside them.
